dear sisters in CHRIST,

"Keep in the Son–light"


"Jesus said, 'Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?'" —Mark 10:38b NIV

James and John were asking a great favor of Jesus and today's scripture was his reply. Jesus was facing difficult times ahead and there came a time when he humanly prayed to the Father, "Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me." Yet he ended his prayer, "Yet not what I will, but what you will" (Mark 14:36). And he was able to go through those times with faith, hope and love.

We go to our Lord with many requests and we have a tendency to want our prayer answered immediately. How would you answer Jesus' question? Are you willing to go through the trial that faces you, even though you don't understand why it's happening? Do you have the faith to trust the Father to bring you through triumphantly? We call ourselves Christians and yet we fail to learn from Christ's example. Jesus was able to go through everything because he completely trusted the Father. Jesus suffered terribly, but in the end he was glorified.

Your prayer may not be answered for quite a while, but that is no reason for you to become discouraged. God is utterly dependable and when you are able to let faith overcome fear, anxiety and depression, you will eventually have a good result, though it may be an unexpected one.

We waste time worrying and fretting, when we could be taking advantage of today and its blessings. Benjamin Franklin said, "Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight." Prayerful living keeps you in the "Son–light" of God's love, if you are willing to end your prayer, "Not what I will, but what you will."

Lord, I want to believe in your power to help me. Give me the wisdom and strength to go forward in faith, hope and love. Amen.

When we hear of Christians in other places, especially where circumstances and times are difficult, or they are new in the Faith, let's intentionally and purposefully pray this prayer for them!


Loving Father please bless my brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world. Strengthen those under attack and facing oppression. Mature those new to your family. Enlighten those who are facing doubt and uncertainty. Please bless your people today with peace. In Jesus' name I ask it. Amen.

根的生命




惟喜愛耶和華的律法，晝夜思想，這人便為有福！他要像一棵樹栽在溪水旁，按時候結果子，葉子也不枯乾，凡他所作的盡都順利。（詩一2至3）

英國有座古老的漢彌爾頓皇宮；園子裡種了一棵葡萄樹，非常巨大，但到二十世紀初就停了結果子，葉子還在，花也開，就是沒有果子。但到了30年代，有一天卻忽然長出了幾百串的葡萄，而且一年比一年更多。無論天氣如何乾旱，也不影響它結果子。過了好多年，有一艘挖泥船在皇宮鄰近的泰晤士河中挖泥時，被泥中的樹根絞住了，人們把樹根拿去鑑定，發現它原來就是葡萄樹的根，才知道那棵特別的葡萄樹，把它的根遠遠伸到了泰晤士河底，使它年輕更新，重新結出許多果實。

詩人說得好，喜愛耶和華律法的人，他的生命要像樹栽於溪水旁，因著長期得到生命的滋潤，就能按時候結出生命的果實。我們必須時常反省自己的讀經和靈修生活，它就如樹根一般的隱藏，若你沒有恆常地實踐，別人未必能即時察覺得到；然而內在生命的特質，隱瞞不得，有如一個小提琴手，一天不拉琴，只有他自己知道；若日久不練習，身旁的人都會發現；長久不操練，恐怕他的聽眾全知道了呢！須知惟有多親近神，我們才能多得力量，叫我們結實纍纍！

讚美之泉文化事業基金會即將自7月16日起展開2007年台灣地區巡迴演唱會，並計劃於7月28、29日兩晚假國父紀念館，進行讚美之泉亞洲巡迴讚美敬拜 - 台北地區聯合敬拜讚美之夜。

其他場次包括台南市文化中心（7/16、7/17）、台中東海大學（7/21、7/22）、高雄武昌教會（7/24、7/25）、台北國父紀念館（7/28、7/29）午/晚共四場，除7月26日晚上七點在高雄音樂館 - 戶外音樂廣場無須索票，其餘場次均須索票入場，可向各福音書房、郵寄或至台北辦公室親自索票。
