Dear sisters in CHRIST,

Ready to Produce Fruit - Luke 8:15

"And what is the seed that fell on the good ground? That is like the people that hear God's teaching with a good, honest heart. They obey God's teaching and patiently make good fruit." (ERV)

Good soil! That's what the message of Jesus, the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, is looking to find. What is that good soil? It is a heart that is open, honest, and good. A heart that is genuinely searching for truth. Is that your heart? Fruitfulness is the natural spiritual result of a heart that open to God that clings to the message of God's good news. How's your heart?

Today's Prayer

O Father, may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you. Guard my heart from evil. Protect my heart from pettiness. Use your Spirit to cleanse my heart of every residue of evil, unrighteousness, and ungodliness. Purify my heart and make it ready to produce the fruit of your character, grace, and love. In Jesus' name. Amen

不用課稅

奉　神旨意，作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，寫信給在以弗所的聖徒，就是在基督耶穌裏有忠心的人。願恩惠平安，從　神我們的父，和主耶穌基督，歸與你們。願頌讚歸與我們主耶穌基督的父　神，他在基督裏，曾賜給我們天上各樣屬靈的福氣。就如　神從創立世界以前，在基督裏揀選了我們，使我們在他面前成為聖潔，無有瑕疵。又因愛我們，就按著自己意旨所喜悅的，豫定我們，藉著耶穌基督得兒子的名分，使他榮耀的恩典得著稱讚。這恩典是他在愛子裏所賜給我們的。我們藉這愛子的血，得蒙救贖，過犯得以赦免，乃是照他豐富的恩典。這恩典是　神用諸般智慧聰明，充充足足賞給我們的，都是照他自己所豫定的美意，叫我們知道他旨意的奧祕，要照所安排的，在日期滿足的時候，使天上地上一切所有的，都在基督裏面同歸於一。我們也在他裏面得了基業，這原是那位隨己意行作萬事的，照著他旨意所豫定的。叫他的榮耀，從我們這首先在基督裏有盼望的人，可以得著稱讚。你們既聽見真理的道，就是那叫你們得救的福音，也信了基督，既然信他，就受了所應許的聖靈為印記。這聖靈，是我們得基業的憑據，直等到　神之民被贖，使他的榮耀得著稱讚。

　　聖詩說：「主的恩典你必算必數，一樣一樣數來記。」對聖徒而言，這絕不會比登天容易﹗上帝所給予我們的恩惠，實在遠超過我們所能了解的。由於上帝的美善，無疑的，聖徒是世上最容裕的一群人。

曾有一位財稅官員到一個窮人家，進行了解這兩個家庭的經濟狀況，因為風聞這一個家庭很富有。那人承認：「我很富有。」官員準備好紙筆，打算逐一記錄課稅的項目，問道：「請問你擁有什麼﹖」聖徒回答：「第一，我擁有主，他給了我永生，將來在永恆的天城裡還為我預備住所。」「還有什麼﹖」「我有一個虔誠﹑勇敢的妻子﹑幾個健康﹑順服﹑重生的子女。」「還有別的嗎﹖」「我有一顆快樂的心，每天都充滿喜樂。」「還有其他的嗎﹖」「這只是隨意舉出的例子……」官員知道這些都不是他職務上所要查詢的，便合起記事簿，站了起來對那人說：「先生，你確實很富有，不過你所擁有的一切，都不用課稅。」

　　你為何不來數算一下自己屬靈的資產，好好的為這些來謝恩呢﹖正如一位詩人所說：「我最愛唱喜樂歌，因我杯中已注滿平安與主愛，還有更多恩惠祝福即將到來。」我們在基督裡確實富有，但永恆的資產與祝福，卻沒有一項必須課稅，因為它們是屬天的﹑永恆的。

Romans 15:5-6
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thoughts on today's verse

Unity comes from God's Spirit as we follow Jesus. But unity has a purpose much deeper than our getting along with each other. Jesus prayed that we would be one so the world would know that God sent him (John 17). We want to be united so our praise can bring glory to God. Unity is far more than a goal, it is a process through which the world learns of Jesus and we glorify the Father who sent him and saved us. Can you think of anything more fundamental to our faith than that!
Prayer:

Great and Almighty God, Eternal Strength for all who call on your name, I apologize and ask your forgiveness for everything I've done and every word I've spoken that has hurt someone in your family and brought a wound to the unity of your Church. Please bless my efforts as I seek less of my will and more for your glory and the encouragement of others. Through Jesus I ask it. Amen.

On Purpose

We . . . are being transformed into [Christ’s] image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. —2 Corinthians 3:18

Rick Warren’s The Purpose-Driven Life has had an unbelievable run on the best-seller lists. Its phenomenal appeal reminds us that believers and nonbelievers alike have a deep longing for a clear sense of purpose. We all want to know that our lives are involved in something worthwhile. Without a strong sense of calling and purpose, life is nothing more than routine busyness.

Being a follower of Jesus gives us a distinct advantage when it comes to having a sense of purpose. The Westminster Catechism sums it up well when it says the “chief end of man” is to “glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.”

Glorifying God means putting His character, His will, and His ways into action in all that we do. The apostle Paul reminded us that we “are being transformed into [Christ’s] image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18). The purpose of our lives is to let others see what God is like as they watch and experience His love through us.

What a profound privilege it is to mirror God’s love, mercy, grace, justice, and righteousness to a world whose heart is “veiled” to God’s truth! (4:3-4). Our purpose is to show others less of us and more of Him. That’s living on purpose with a purpose! —Joe Stowell

標竿人生

令人難以置信的是，華理克所著《標竿人生──建造目標導向的人生》（The Purpose-Driven Life）居然長時間列入暢銷書排行榜。這個現象提醒我們，無論是基督徒還是非基督徒，都在渴尋一個清楚的人生目標。我們都想知道，自己的人生能有一個值得努力的目標，若沒有清楚的呼召和目標，人生只不過是忙忙碌碌的例行公事而已。
我們基督徒認識到自己的人生目標後，就能大得益處。在《韋斯敏斯德教義問答》中明確指出：「人的主要目的就是榮耀上帝，永遠以為樂。」

榮耀上帝就是在我們所行的每一件事上，都能彰顯上帝的性情和心意。使徒保羅提醒我們要「變成主的形狀，榮上加榮，如同從主的靈變成的」（哥林多後書3章18節）。我們的人生目標是，人們看到我們時，能透過我們體會到上帝的愛，看到上帝的樣式。

如今人心被矇蔽以致看不到上帝的真理（4章3-4節），我們若能向世人反映出上帝的慈愛、憐憫、恩慈、公平及公義，是多麼的榮幸啊！我們要讓他們看到「祂必興旺，我必衰微」。這些就是我們竭力追求的人生目標了。JS

每天靈修 譚蜺

「甚麼是靈修？」
在下筆之時，有一隻體積不小，聲音怪吵的不速之客投進我的的辦公室，這隻不受歡迎的蒼蠅在斗室中滋滋擾擾。我立即打開窗「令」它飛走。對了，靈修就如打開心靈的一扇窗，容讓聖靈進入你的生命裡，為你驅逐干擾你、防礙你生命更新的不速之客，又塑造你成聖，活在使你得稱為義的基督耶穌裡，並使你的靈滿滿足足、喜喜樂樂地與至聖、至榮愛你的父神相交。

「靈修時做些甚麼？」
多了！你可以讀經、讚美、感恩、祈禱、認罪、默想、等候、靜默等等。方式可以開聲朗讀、詠唱，背頌、吹奏、彈琴、又可安靜默禱，甚至可用筆寫下、圖圖畫畫等。姿勢呢？則可坐、可立、可俯伏、可跪下、可跳、可舞等。重要的是，帶著清潔、敬畏、愛慕的心來到神面前。

「為何每天都要靈修？」
就說三項理由吧！其一，我們每天靈修親近神，最討神的喜悅。其二、每一個蒙拯救的人，都是耶穌流出寶血以重價買贖回來的，所以現在活著的，不再是「我」，是基督在「我」裡面活著，我們要過一個與神的恩召相稱的生活。若不親近神，又如何更多認識祂？明白祂的心意呢？其三、身體缺乏食物會餓、會病，屬靈生命的維繫、成長也同一道理。而第四、第五、第六……項理由就由你填上吧。

「太忙了， 能完成手頭的工作已感恩了，哪有時間靈修？」
那要問問神，你被造的目的是甚麼？問問創造你的主，你生存的意義是甚麼？也問問你的心，你的人生觀是怎樣的？價值觀又如何？你將自己交給誰了呢？我想你會找到答案，更會找到時間的。

「每時每刻都是我親近神的時間，固定的靈修時間未免太律法主義了？」
我想一個每時每刻都活在基督裡，與神相近的人，是一個更願意化多些時間與神相交，不以斷續、被分散、干擾的相交為滿足，神也願意得著我們的心，得著我們的時間。如雅歌記記載的良人與新婦間愛慕之情，良人呼喚新婦說：「我的佳偶，我的美人，起來，與我同去！」（歌2:10）

讓我們每天藉靈修操練親近主，打開心窗容讓主更新我們的生命，使我們行在這跟隨主耶穌的道路上更加有力量、有目標、有盼望、有信心、有喜樂、並且有激情
